30 poems in 30 days!
Yep. That’s right. A poem each day for the entire month of April. That’s the National Poetry Writing Month challenge. And a challenge it is!
I tried my hand at the NaPoWriMo challenge last year after stumbling upon it on the WordPress homepage. It was an interesting experience to say the least and while not everything one puts to pen can be a “Poor Man and the Sea”, it led to some fun experimentation and pieces that I enjoy even now.
So hang on to your seats and join me for another roller-coaster ride as I attempt to write through the fatigue of campaigning for my dad in Uttar Pradesh (oh yay!), the confusion and anxiety of trying new styles of poetry and the sheer frustration of writer’s block. They won’t all be winners but hopefully at the end of the month we’ll both, you and I, have something to remember fondly.
If you want to join in the madness… er I mean FUN, why not make your way to the NaPoWriMo site by clicking the button below. Register yourself as a participant (though this is completely optional) and bookmark the site so you can come by each day for a helpful daily prompt.
