The Sunday Poll – Who Deserves Their Own Stand Alone Movie?

I’m not talking – part of a franchise, pump it out along with three or four others so we can make one massive one and then sequels to them all. I genuinely mean a well written stand alone plot for a single character, with the option of a sequel, if it works. Think Kick Ass or Watchmen (okay not technically one character but stand alone) or the old Batman movies. This list is based on rumoured projects and personal want-to-sees, but feel free to add to the list in the comments!

  1. I woulda said GotG, but they’re already getting a movie AND ROCKET RACCOON IS IN IT! :) WOO!
Other than that, I’d have liked to see a movie about the Flash starring Ryan Reynolds, but that’s now never going to happen. No complaints because now he belongs to the ‘Pool and that’s where he belongs and Hollywood needs to make a Deadpool movie the way it should be done and let the geeks pick the story and be R-rated and obnoxious… anything less will be insta-failure.

    • Definitely agree – I want a proper Deadpool. Problem is though man, Superhero movies have become an every demographic trend. They just make too much money by diluting them so they can target pretty much everyone 14-60, so I don’t know if it’ll ever be just right.

Did not know about the Gaurdians of the Galaxy movie. Not particularly familiar with that franchise, but I’ll start boning up in time for the movie : )

      • Oh you have no idea what you’ve missed… on the other hand I’m terribly jealous that you’ll be digging into Annihilation onwards for the first time! :)
And you’re partly right, bear in mind that between the Nolan movies and Avengers (and from early signs, the new supes movie), they are realising slowly what Marvel did soon after Iron Man I think, that you don’t have to dumb everything down and a good solid one done the way it should be will find an audience.
